Aprons For Crafts(wo)man
Everyone working in craft will not need much explanation and knows about the importance of quality workwear. Two things though are much too often underrated – comfort and style. Sure first of all one needs to think of safety but spending hours each day in a uniform you want to be comfortable and at least look something close to good. GUSSWERK features all of the above and more. One can choose between different fronts and straps just matching the needs of different environments. So you will find cotton or waxed materials as well as welder flannel or moleskin. Same with the detachable straps made from leather or cotton. Main thing here: work with the aprons and not let them get in the way when it comes to either comfort, hygiene or style.
GUSSWERK, that are Anke Dezius and Katrin Degen – two who have been in the clothing world for years. Both are craftsmen in their heart. Anke trained as an editing technician after studying art. Following her tenure as an employee, she founded Juniform, with a focus on designing contemporary work uniforms. After 7 years it was time for something new. Katrin is a tailor and apparel technician and has spent a lot of time working on the insanity of production management. In Germany and abroad. First hired and then freelance. But often with a raised eyebrow and unfulfilled heart due to the superficiality and fast pace of the fashion world. After they had crossed each other’s path, it was clear that they were looking in the same direction: making a product with conviction, joy and enthusiasm. Nice and functional. Made in ordinary conditions. Not subject to any seasonal trend. And responding to a real need.
